Hollywood star Chadwick Boseman passes away at age 43 after four years of battling cancer. The news of his demise was announced on the actor’s Instagram account.

According to the post, Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, which progressed to IV through the years. While battling the illness, the actor went on to do films, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Panther, where he gained fame for portraying the character King T’Challa.

“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,” said in a post on the actor’s Instagram account. “From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more- all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”

Many of his co-stars and other famous personalities expressed their grief and shock on social media, including rapper Chance the Rapper, actor Chris Evans, film director Ava DuVernay, and NBA star LeBron James.



In a report by the Associated Press, Chadwick died at his home in the Los Angeles area with his wife and family by his side.
