Bea meets Vico as she donates to Pasig frontliners

Bea Alonzo and Vico Sotto
Actress and celebrity Bea Alonzo turned over relief bags and disinfectants from her charity organization, I Am Hope, to Sotto, mayor of Pasig City, as part of a campaign to celebrate Father's Day this weekend.

She said that the donated supplies are intended for fathers who choose to serve the community by cleaning the streets and picking up garbage. "MARAMING SALAMAT PO," she told them.

"Hi Mama! Nakilala ko na ang paborito mo!" was what Bea Alonzo wrote on Instagram this Saturday, referencing Coney Reyes' mother role in "Four Sisters and a Wedding" in a fun post showing her meeting Vico Sotto for what appears to be the first time.

The "Four Sisters" reference was pertaining to, of course, Sotto being Reyes' son. It harks back to one of Alonzo's most memorable lines in the movie, wherein she confronts Reyes's character about playing favorites among her and her siblings.

Sotto replied to her fun post by thanking her for the donations and greeting fathers on their day. Reyes also reacted to Alonzo's post, sharing Sotto's reply on Instagram Stories.

Alonzo has been busy with her humanitarian efforts for those affected by COVID-19 via I Am Hope, which she co-founded with her friend, Rina Navarro.

It was initially a food drive for vulnerable communities amid the crisis, but has since evolved into a donation platform with the goal of augmenting immediate and long-term needs of frontliners.

Around the end of May, it has raised more than P9 million in cash and in-kind donations, and has reached 44 hospitals and 36 communities.
